The Northwest Passage is the ultimate test of human endurance. In the summer of 2013, four men—Frank Wolf, Kevin Vallely, Paul Gleeson, and Denis Barnett—set out to row the 1,870 km from Inuvik, NWT to Cambridge Bay, NU in a custom-built rowboat.
Facing extreme weather and massive ice floes, the team documented their journey in an effort to bring awareness to the rapidly changing Arctic climate. The film 'The Hand of Franklin' follows their struggle as they encounter the physical and psychological toll of a journey that was ultimately stopped by pack ice in the heart of the passage.
