A 620 km journey through the Place of Spirits.
Frank Wolf and Todd McGowan successfully paddled 620 km from Nain, NL to Kangiqsualujjuaq, QC via a new route that travelled West over the Labrador Plateau into the George River and then north to Ungava Bay. The journey took 21 days to complete.
The expedition name 'Kitturiaq' is the Inuktitut word for mosquito—a constant companion on this grueling trek across the sub-arctic tundra. The route follows ancient travel corridors of the Inuit and Innu, connecting the Atlantic coast of Labrador with the eastern shores of Ungava Bay in Northern Quebec.
The film captures the unique culture and stark beauty of the Labrador peninsula, highlighting the intersection of traditional knowledge and modern exploration. Official Selection at the Reel Paddling Film Festival.
